Crew usually consists of a captain, cook and one or two seaman/mechanic(s) and on the larger gulets also one or two hostess(es) will be at your service. Crew onboard can be between three to eight members depending on the size & quality of the vessel. They are very friendly providing a relaxed atmosphere but at the same time extremely professional familiar with the coastal waters and the gulets inside out. The crew members are usually source of information on the local history and surroundings, being able to advise the best places to snorkel and anchor etc. Also you can get some super tips from the cook on local cuisine.
The captains are experienced and passionate seafarers and have expert local knowledge. They know where the best anchorages, ports, beaches, snorkelling and fishing grounds are located as well as walks and other onshore activities. They customize every single day of the cruise to your personal preferences. Together with their crew members they provide an ambitious and very personalized yet discreet service. There are always around when needed but never intrude in your privacy unless you wish them to take a more active part. With their natural Turkish trait of warm hospitality they are the perfect and most welcoming hosts. Your personal chef will be ready to offer you dishes composed from the finest and freshest of the local ingredients and only too delighted to adjust to individual tastes. The hospitality team is always attentive and circumspect to cater to your desires. The deck crew isguaranteeing that you benefit fully from all the water sports offer ensuring your safety. A gulet yacht captain will always try to fulfill your desires, but his primary responsibility is the safety of the yacht and passengers. Should an occasion arise where your request conflicts with this responsibility, your captain will discuss all possible alternatives with you. Remember in all matters pertaining to the safety of the vessel and those onboard the captain’s decision is final.
At a suitable moment, once the guests have joined the yacht, the Captain will deliver a short briefing, in which he explains the basic safety procedures and other issues of concern. These may include, but are not limited to, general safety and security onboard the use of water sports equipment, smoking, recreational drugs and the yacht’s specific policy towards children, and internet usage. This should also include details of any local laws/ restrictions of countries or regions to be visited during the charter.
You could lounge on the deck sunbathing, sipping your drink; savoring your Mediterranean meal, read your favorite novel or explore the turquoise waters with your snorkel. Deck ladders down to the sea and deck showers to get the salt off come in really handy. Land trips to ancient ruins are extra. You can even fish for your supper and your cook will gladly prepare it for you. Mealtimes are another form of entertainment with all that exquisite Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine along with a good bottle of local wine. Having a meal under the stars on a serene sea, gently touching the sides of the boat is an experience not to be missed. For those who prefer a different view each day and are prepared for the changing moods of Mother Nature, a holiday on an intimate gulet is the ideal excursion in a region ample of history
