DAILY PRIVATE LAND TOURS

LAND TOUR # 1 – KALKAN/FETHİYE – THE LYCIAN TOUR

 Our guide welcomes guests in Kalkan harbour at 10.00 a.m. with an air-conditioned minibus. The first stop is Patara, app. 10 km to Kalkan, famous for its lovely 13 miles long sandy beach. The antique city of Patara was the major harbour of Lycian period. After a nice swim and a walk, we continue to Xanthos, the largest and most prominent city of the Lycian civilisation. In Xanthıs, located an a great cliff rising steeply from Xanthos river, there are the acropolis, a 2nd Century Roman theatre and several famous Lycian tombs and monuments to be seen.The visit to Xanthos is followed by a visit to Letoon, where ruins of three temples dedicated to Leto, Artemis and Apollo are located. We head for Fethiye after having local pastry and refreshments on the way and meet our yacht in Fethiye harbour. Fethiye is ideal for local shopping ( carpets, textiles etc.)

LAND TOUR # 2 – DEMRE/MYRA – ST. NICHOLAS TOUR 

Our guide wellcomes guests in Demre harbour with an air-conditioned minibus at 10.00 a.m. We drive to Myra ruins, which was the center of St. Nicholas, later called the famous Santa Claus. There are rock tombs and a famous Roman Theatre to be visited. Afterwards, we visit the church of St. Nicholas who was the bishop of Myra.

LAND TOUR # 3 – GEMILER ISLAND/KAYAKÖY – THE GHOST TOWN TOUR

You will be taken by minibus to Kayaköy ( the rocky village), which had a Greek population of about 3.000 million until 1923, when there was a general exchange of Turks and Greeks and the town was virtually abandoned. Remains of many buildings and churches can be seen. We meet our boat in Fethiye harbour

LAND TOUR # 4 – EKİNCİK/CAUNOS – THE CAUNOS TOUR

 A local boat will take our guests from the yacht in Ekincik Bay, and take them through the river to Caunos, a prominent natural and historical site where rock tombs and a theatre are to be seen. The Caunos beach achieved  a degree of international fame for being a breeding ground for Caretta Caretta turtles. Afterwards, we stop for lunch in a local fish restaurant and return to the yacht.
